SILVACO 发布 HiSIM 的 Multithreaded 版本
美国 加州圣克拉拉县, 2007年7月10日
For simulating very large circuits consisting of multi-million elements, multi-threaded circuit simulation software is required. Multi-threaded SmartSpice has been in commercial use for many years, and all SPICE models, including BSIM3 and BSIM4 are multi-threaded. After extensive research and development, SILVACO has completed the multi-threaded HiSIM model and released it for commercial applications.
Extensive testing has shown that the multi-threaded version of HiSIM is consistently faster than BSIM4, and often faster than BSIM3. The speed advantage is especially pronounced in very large circuits with many back-annotated parasitic R and C elements. As deep submicron circuits designed in 90nm and below technologies require back-annotation of R and C parasitics, the multi-threaded HiSIM becomes the model of choice.
"SILVACO has been concentrating on the development of multi-threaded technologies for many years, and this expertise has now been applied to HiSIM. This will make HiSIM the leading model of choice for simulating technologies below 90nm," said Dr Ivan Pesic, President and CEO of SILVACO. "The performance of this model has surprised even us."
For easy adoption of the HiSIM model, SILVACO offers a full solution consisting of 32-bit and 64-bit multi-threaded SmartSpice for analog and mixed-signal circuit simulation, UTMOST IV for automated SPICE model parameter extraction, and SPICE model parameter extraction service. SmartSpice and UTMOST IV are available for download from SILVACO's website.
About SIMUCAD Design Automation
SILVACO Design Automation is a leading provider of simulation and CAD software tools used for developing analog, mixed-signal, and RF integrated circuits. Founded in 2004 as a spin-off from SILVACO International, the company delivers products for circuit simulation, custom IC layout/verification, interconnect modeling, digital simulation, and IP characterization. The company provides a complete PDK-based design flow with interfaces to third-party design platforms. SILVACO has a worldwide presence inherited from SILVACO's twenty years of business and is preparing for an IPO.
