How to perform local optimization in UTMOST III? |

Assuming, we want to do a local optimization for VTO using the IDS/VDS curve as shown.

If we only want to perform local optimization for the area indicated by the green dotted box below: |

Then, in the "Target Selection Screen" of "VTO", we have to set: "VDS Start" = 4; "VDS Stop" = 8; Sweep_start = 1 (the first curve); Sweep_stop = 5 (the last curve) as shown below: |

Then, in the “Geometry Selection Screen”, make sure that the device to be optimizes is selected. |

Once done, press all “Quit” button. Then, click on "Local Optim" to start optimizing. |

How can I convert my measured data to UTMOST .LOG file format so that I can perform optimization in UTMOST? |

Below shows the steps involve to convert your measured data to UTMOST .LOG files format:
1. In UTMOST III main window, press Files -> Output Logfiles. The “OUTPUT LOG FILE SCREEN” will appear. Under the “Log File Name” field, key in the log file name as “test.log” as shown below. Then, press the “OPEN NEW” button and follow by the “CLOSE FILE” button.

2. Now, open the "test.log" file to view the content in the log file. Note that there is no raw data in this file as shown below. |

3. Next, launch "Microsoft EXCEL" program, and open your measured data file says “test.dat”. Choose the option Delimited, and press the Next button. |

4. Choose the option Comma or Space, and press the Finish button. |
| |
|

 |
| |
|
| |
5. Below shows measured data format with Column A beings the Voltage steps, Column B is the Curve 1 data and Column C is the Curve 2 data. |

6. Finally, open the "test.log" by WORDPAD. Then, copy and paste the Curve 1 data follows by Curve 2 data from EXCEL into the log file as shown below. |
